Tee off, splash out or pump iron, there’s nothing quite like starting a day in the Shire with a refreshing workout.

For fitness fans, Sutherland Shire Council has three leisure centres located at Sutherland, Engadine and Caringbah. All of the centres have aquatic and creche facilities. Sutherland and Engadine also have fitness classes, gym, personal training and more, and casual visitors are always welcome.

Golfers are just as well catered for with three public courses in the area. Woolooware Golf Club on Harnleigh Avenue is an easy walking course boasting a full fairway. Kareela Golf Course provides an enjoyable game in a tightly tree-lined valley. There's also a brand new 9 hole course at Lucas Heights with an adjoining two level driving range. The floodlit driving range features 52 bays, electronic ball dispensers and seven target greens.
